Shame On You, The De Facto Regime (1)

Those of you who are familiar with or addicted to Facebook events will have noticed or come across the song titled ‘Oh South Africa, Shame on You’ by the artist, Mozato. It is a protest track written in response to the tragic outbreaks of xenophobic violence in South Africa. The song was created to condemn the recurring attacks, looting, and displacement of foreign nationals particularly from other African countries living in South Africa. The artist and critics express disappointment because other African nations historically stood in solidarity with South Africa during anti-apartheid struggle, making the violence against fellow Africans is highly hypocritical. The message with lyrics echoing, “Oh South Africa, shame on you, you disgrace yourself among the African countries”

I just quoted it, rephrased it, and fleshed it out in order to carry my message.

Shame on you, the de facto regime. Shame on you, the Sovereignty Council. Shame on you, the Prime Minister. Shame on you, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Shame on you, the Minister of Information. To hell with all of you together. You have literally disgraced yourselves among the Sudanese nation.

On Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Egyptian military aircrafts violated our national airspace and bombarded innocent Sudanese citizens who were mining on their own Sudanese land and territory. Many of them lost their lives, while others were brutally wounded. So far, the de facto government spokesperson has not yet released any official statement that sheds light on what happened. On the other hand, the de facto sovereignty council chairperson is turning a deaf ear and a blind eye to this tragic event, as if it were none of his concern.

Sudanese people are enraged and absolutely furious with this irresponsible and weak de facto government, particularly its puppet prime minister. All social media platforms are full of condemnations and criticisms of this barbaric event.

Where is this ‘War of Dignity’? Where is this, ‘Glory to the Gun’? Your Excellency, the dignity of your people has been smeared. Yes, our dignity and honor have been soiled by Egyptian military airplanes and the entire Sudanese nation awaits your bold and courageous response to restore what was lost. Your Excellency, the people of Sudan possess unwavering confidence in you and your Prime Minister. They know full well that your steadfast armed forces and glorious weapons will restore their dignity.
